The beauty of a cold crisp morn – the Firth of Forth stretching before us.
A beauteous backdrop for the day, the moment
The green screen of life
Cramond island too – the tide low, a hop and a skip across the sand.
Rosy and I had arrived for Parkrun Edinburgh…. Half an hour early as it turned out.
Scottish Parkrun has a start time of 9.30am instead of the 9am we are familiar with in England….
Our brother Stuart had driven us and dropped us off, so he returned to the car to read his book ‘The Zen of Golf’, while Rosy and I ran up and down to warm up, being greeted by friendly dogs and the folk running too…
I’d planned to run shoeless again – but a 2 degree morn changed my mind, and shod instead I trod the track!
We gathered as usual, the format familiar – and the friendly vibe too – and then we were off. Hundreds of us running along – a great crocodile of folk – brightly clad, shiny faces, sky blue, blossoms on the trees, green bank beside us on one – and the blue grey sea and sand the other…
Pure Saturday morning April delight.
I hadn’t planned to ‘give it a go’ – but as we stretched out from the ‘3-2-1’ start, my being was willing…
Body said ‘Yes’ – so off we set my body and me…
Who? me!
Who’s me?
She!
Who’s she?
Julia
Who?
‘the runner’ ‘The woman’…
Well, those are two of the roles she plays here, on planet earth for the brief journey, the experience.
An opportunity to grow and evolve, to clear away the karma and fly free
Spirit free, body expressing all we can be.
And so I ran free, without a watch to tell me my time, the time….
And I enjoyed the feeling of the body stretching out in the cold crips air with others around an about.
All of us on our own journey, together.
Running as one, no separation
Life in motion, unfolding…
Consciousness experiencing itself, creating form – and fun – in every moment…..
And Rosy and I created fun on the run – with breakfast beckoning!
