‘Don’t worry
Abide in the heart
And surrender your acts to the divine’

And so it is…
To fully be here and enjoy this very moment, we need to let go of worry and stress and fear, abide in the heart and let go of any attachment to the outcome of our endeavours

Our work is to stay present and to be authentic; this means facing any fears and energy blocks that arise within us – and demonstrate themselves in the outer realms through difficulty in any area of our lives – particularly relationships where we have an ever present mirror to see everything we are and are not, reflected back.

‘Know thyself’ – the philospher Socrates stated that an unexamined life is not worth living…
And so to know our ‘self’ – it is important to start to peel back the layers of what we are not… And to inquire into our every belief and attitude – into our every projection; which may seem to be the truth…

As I write I am in Larnaca, Cyprus with ‘Running Crazy’ – the fabulous running tour operators who create an amazing experience at every one of the races I have been to over the last seventeen or eighteen years…

I was wandering back after the – ever important and greatly appreciated post race breakfast – and I met a young woman who had just completed her first marathon…

She was overjoyed , she asked me if I had run the marathon and I said, no – that I had run the 10k…
‘I started with 10k ‘ she responded; ‘You will find you can build to a marathon’…
And so without knowing it, she had projected her idea of me, onto me and that became her truth…
And, with the best of intention; to encourage, to connect – but paradoxically projections limit connection….

We create a reality, which we think is the truth – often without even realising it… immediately looking at situations and other people through the filter of our own experience…
And so we are seeing the world as we are….

And then there are the expectations, the pressures, the standards we set ourselves – that if not reached can lend themselves to the internal voice saying ‘not good enough’ – not measuring up’ – ‘should do better’ that is so prevalent – as well as projecting those very same judgements onto those around us…

It is very different to aspire and work towards something – and if it doesn’t come off to experience the disappointment that is a very human response – to constantly be berating and belittling ourselves…
For, when there is presence and our ‘ true self’ always witnessing and watching; then these human emotions pass more easily as we know who we truly are

We are not our achievements

The joy is in the stretching the striving the process towards them, and then… Let go
