I journeyed through London, under ground, with many others

And then climbed up the stairs – as they moved along too – up and out into Waterloo station.

So familiar, the clock, telling the time on all four sides; the huge concourse alive with people – everywhere.

This station – that I have been to so many times – seems unchanged and yet ever changing

The passing of time being marked by the clock

And I too feel the same in so many ways; as the teenager, the 20 30 40 50  – and now 60 something

Travelling through life – the number recording how long I have journeyed so far…

I sat on the train to Southampton and never wanted the journey to end, past fields with hay bales, blue skies, tall trees and then the expanse of water as we neared our destination – I wanted the journey to last forever,

Nothing to do, nowhere to get to – just the rhythm of the wheels on the track going round and round and round; like the circles we live in, going round and round the sun

Ever journeying.

But now I am in my hotel, very near to where the Parkrun takes place each Saturday…

I’ve remembered my barcode this week; its already on my wrist

My Sister rosy is setting off early tomorrow morning from her home in Lyme Regis

And we will be Parkrun pals again…

Later…

I’m now at Southampton Station again, awaiting the train from London; and serendipitously, magically – as these things happen – Anadi is aboard that very train!

We had a plan to meet at the New Forest – we said would catch the trains that we could and meet in Brockenhurst; and hey presto it seems we will finish the journey together…

And talking of magic…

Today Rosy and I met at the Southampton Parkrun venue, in the lovely wooded area… We were setting off to warm up and three people who had just climbed out of their car asked us the way to the start…

‘See you at the start’ one called cheerily as they disappeared through the trees….

Southampton Parkrun is a popular one, today there were 771 participants

But suddenly amongst all the people gathering – I spotted Danielle!

She and I met at Gatwick airport last November, both of us on our way to Cyprus to run – me a 10k and Danielle a marathon to celebrate her birthday!

And there she was… This time celebrating her 100th Parkrun!

And even more magically three of her friends had travelled from London – the very three people that we directed to the start…!

The wonder of life and love – energy in motion…
